President Joko Widodo announced that the government has officially revoked the Covid-19 pandemic status in Indonesia. Furthermore, the President said that starting June 21, 2023, Indonesia was declared to have transitioned from a pandemic to an endemic period.
This government decision was taken by considering the daily confirmation rate of COVID-19 which is close to zero, 99% of Indonesians already have COVID-19 antibodies and the WHO has revoked the status of public health emergency of international concern.
Nevertheless, the president asked the public to remain cautious and continue to carry out healthy and clean living behaviors.
