President Jokowi: Revocation of PSBB and PPKM Pending Studies

President Joko Widodo emphasized that the revocation of the status of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) or the Imposition of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) related to the Covid-19 pandemic is still awaiting an in-depth study. The study includes a sero-survey to see the level of antibodies in the population.

"Not yet, for PSBB, PPKM has not yet reached my desk. Later when it's finished, because this involves sero surveys, involving studies. I asked for details, not to make the wrong decision so we should wait patiently," President Jokowi said in his statement to the media crew after inaugurating Manggarai Station, Jakarta, Monday, December 26, 2022.

According to the President, if the survey result is above 90 percent, it means that the community's immunity is good. By having good immunity, the President continued, the community will be better prepared to face other virus threats.

"As long as our survey is above 90 percent, it means that our immunity is good, there is no problem with anything from anywhere," he added.

Furthermore, the President mentioned that currently the daily Covid-19 cases have dropped below 1,000 cases. However, the President reminded that it needs to be seen whether it is because people's immunity has improved or because of other things.

"So, wait for the study from the Ministry of Health, epidemiologists, and experts to make the right decision. It depends on the study, if it is completed, we hope it will be completed by the end of this year, and the survey and study," he said.
