There is a possibility of a decrease in the effectiveness of the vaccine as indicated by the finding of breakthrough cases (infected with COVID-19 even though they have received vaccinations). Current vaccines are still very effective in preventing serious illness and death. Cases that have not been vaccinated have a greater potential to infect their families and environment.
